Question 1. How much does your kit cost?

Answer 1. We charge £16 per square metre. This is a kit price which includes the 045 (1.14mm) membrane, adhesives, trims, fixings, sealants, vat and delivery. If it is over 35m2 we may give a discount.(Quicktrim for an additional £1 per linear metre). Heavy duty kits are available on request for £18 per square metre this includes the 060 membrane which is 1.5mm thick.

Question 2. What is EPDM?

Answer 2. EPDM is a synthetic rubber, made from the refinery by-products ethyl and propylene. The characteristics of natural rubber ( very good elasticity, expansion, good cold-flexibility, tensile strength, poor heat resistance) cannot be adapted or manipulated, however, with a synthetic product, scientists can select and adapt and modify the base products to determine the molecular structure, and this enables them to design the construction of the polymers. The result of such manipulation means the synthetic rubber can be made to measure and with characteristics precisely adapted to the specific use and its particular requirements. These improved characteristics of EPDM synthetic rubber products include excellent stability against influences of weather, sunlight, ozone, acids and caustic solutions. EPDM also has long lasting flexibility and elasticity to eliminate cracking and posesses good tensile strength and a very broad temperature range. EPDM has an outstanding resistance to ageing.

Question 3. Is EPDM rubber suitable for my roof?

Answer 3. Almost certainly, there are very few instances where an EPDM roof cannot be installed.

Question 4. How long will an EPDM roof last?

Answer 4. In central Europe, EPDM flat roofs are common and have been in use for about 30 years. Tests have been carried out on roofs of this age and they still exceed the results demanded by the material standard DIN 7864. It is established therefore, that EPDM waterproofing systems have a life span well in excess of 50 years. Click here for further proof.

Question 5. What type of roof can benefit from an EPDM installation?

Answer 5. All types of flat roofs are suitable, including; Extensions, Garages, Dormers, Sun terraces and Balconies.
